The primary responsibility of Station 27 is to provide emergency medical service from the Budd Lake section of Mt. Olive Township and mutual aid for our sister company in Flanders, Long Valley, Netcong, Hackettstown and Byram as well as to the New Jersey State Police on I-80.
As part of the New Jersey First Aid Council, the squad maintains the highest level of training for all of our members.
Currently we are staffed with 30 New Jersey certified Emergency Medical Technician's (EMT's) and 7 basic first aid trained members. Also, all of our members are certified for Healthcare Provider level CPR and trained in the use of Automated External Defibrillator's(AED).
Always looking to expand on our training we hold monthly drills on a wide variety of topics from OB/GYN emergencies to psychiatric emergencies.

The EMS division operates three Basic Life Support (BLS) transport ambulances that can carry as many as three patients. Each ambulance in adequately supplied with some of the very latest in emergency equipment to keep us prepared for almost any type of incident.

Also part of the EMS Division is our First Responder program. Started over a decade ago the program cuts our response time in half or less, enabling us to get care direct to the scene as fast as possible.
After the Squad is dispatched for a call it takes between 5 and 10 minutes for members to get from home to our headquarters and then to the scene. The First Responder goes direct to initiate care faster.
The First Response program utilizes a custom made 2003 Ford F-250 with a utility box that carries the same equipment that is in our ambulances. The vehicle also has 4-wheel drive capability to reach remote locations of our response area that an ambulance can't reach.
Since this program began it has been credited with saving countless lives and has been emulated by other EMS organizations.
